Description
About 35 years ago, a client came to one of my local artist friends with two photos of her uncle's motorcycles and requested that she paint them in watercolor so the family could give the paintings to him as a gift. After seeing all the detail in this complicated photo, my friend passed on painting the image and offered the commission to me. I looked at it as a challenge and, although the budget for the project was tight, my funds were even tighter at the time so I took on the work. To my surprise, I really enjoyed the challenge of painting tiny details in watercolor and I learned to control the pigment, brush and paper to achieve my objective.
Recently, I decided to apply a photo manipulation program to the photo of my watercolor painting of the motorbike. The possibilities are endless, but the bold colors and crazy wild background of this version really appeals to me. Hope you enjoy my new HOG WILD!
