Description
I was commissioned to paint this BOSS HOG BIKER original watercolor painting in 1986 along with its partner, HOG WILD BIKER by a collector of these beautiful machines. She supplied me with the photos to use as reference. This magnificent motorcycle has such gorgeous detail, it was a pleasure to paint. To balance the finicky detailed watercolor painting of the motorbike, I treated the background more loosely in an impressionistic style, carefully masking the subject bike, then splashing on the wild color background. Although it is obvious that the bike is not moving, the intense color and lively background bring movement to the picture.
Art and canvas prints of this original painting had been selling very well on FAA until, one day, it just disappeared from the site. I discovered that the online image had been stolen from me and was being sold by a Chinese company. So now, I am uploading it again. I used this original artwork to create my digital motorcycle image called BOSS HOG in 2020 (Also in this gallery).
